The Beauty Project
Conference Identity Design
Inspired by Sagmeister and Walsh’s book, Beauty, this conference is aimed primarily at creatives to begin the conversation about why aesthetic matters. With speakers from a range of different fields, The Beauty Project brings together people with different views of the world to discuss the impact of beauty on our lives.
Designed in collaboration with Maya Flood.
In order to show the variety of how beauty is defined across time and place, the identity is centered around these collages, each of which take beautiful items from different countries around the world. This avoids the pitfall of a singular view on the definition of beauty, while allowing people to see a composition of beautiful things that would not normally be seen together.
Using six colors also allows for this variation, but the slight skew of each color away from pure primary or secondary colors makes it feel unique to this conference.
